Site 002 (Q507): Difference between revisions

One of the largest smelting camps, 20,000 sqm. Includes slag, furnace remains, architectural structures. Surveyed by Rothenberg and excavated by him in 1964 and 1966. Rothenberg discovered a scarab from the reign of Ramses II (1279-1213 BCE) and C14 dates activity in the site between the 14th century BCE. The site also hosted smelting operations dating to the Early Islamic period.
